Selection Criteria 1: Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in providing executive level financial accounting and business management advice to a Director or Chief Executive and Board.*

Selection Criteria 2: Proven experience in financial management, annual financial statement preparation, analytical and advisory functions and - the development and implementation of policy.*

Selection Criteria 3: Strong leadership and relationship management skills with the ability to strengthen a culture of financial accountability and transparency.*

Selection Criteria 4: Extensive knowledge of accrual accounting concepts and principles and financial management practices, preferably in a public sector environment.*

Selection Criteria 5: High level interpersonal skills particularly in communication, collaboration and negotiation, and high-level written communication skills with a proven ability to write reports, policy papers, briefing notes and other correspondence in an environment requiring performance of multiple tasks.*

Selection Criteria 6: Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, set priorities and work under pressure to meet conflicting deadlines.*

Selection Criteria 7: Proven ability to provide strategic leadership to staff at all levels, with the ability to articulate the corporate vision and values and translate that into effective strategic initiatives and operational plans.*

Selection Criteria 8: Demonstrated ability to show initiative and a focus on continued improvement.*

Selection Criteria 9: High level of integrity and confidentiality.*

Desirable Criteria 1: Membership of a recognised Australian accounting body.*

Desirable Criteria 2: Experience and knowledge of Northern Territory government systems including PIPS, GAS, BOXI, EIMS, TRIPS and TRIM*
