The new Head of Audience, Education and Learning position will drive high quality public programs and experiences across all sites of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. This position will be responsible for the strategic development, delivery and evaluation of activities to diversify and grow our audiences with a focus on lifelong learning opportunities and innovative platforms for engagement for Aboriginal cultures, natural sciences, histories and arts.

Selection Criteria 1: Relevant tertiary qualifications in an education related field, arts and culture field or museum studies.*

Selection Criteria 2: A minimum of five years’ experience working in museums, cultural organisations or relevant commercial settings creating and/or managing audience engagement programs.*

Selection Criteria 3: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of creative and innovative educational, interpretative and engagement experiences for visitors, relevant to a museum or similar environment.*

Selection Criteria 4: An awareness of current engagement models and methods regarding how to design programs that are curriculum based, including a focus on STEAM, and those that offer a broader experience of lifelong learning for a variety of audiences.*

Selection Criteria 5: Demonstrated experience working with cultural and educational partners, local and national.*

Selection Criteria 6: Highly developed leadership and people management skills, including performance measurement, feedback and development and the ability to successfully lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage external stakeholders.*

Selection Criteria 7: Excellent interpersonal, persuasive, written and oral communication skills with the ability to achieve buy-in from colleagues and to negotiate, advise, and counsel to achieve agreed outcomes. *

Selection Criteria 8: An ability to interact effectively with people from different cultures and a sound understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) practises to ensure WHS system compliance.*
