About the role

Full-time | Ongoing

Salary: $110,000 p.a. + 12% super

Location: Darwin, NT

This position is responsible for providing a high standard of corporate governance through the development, implementation and management of effective governance frameworks. The role will monitor policies and standards, manage MAGNT’s Risk Management functions and support WHS across the organisation.

The position is responsible for management of the secretariat function for the MAGNT Board, accurately taking Board Minutes and monitoring action items; and provides secretariat support to the Audit, Risk and Compliance (ARC) Committee and external stakeholders as required.

The position is also responsible for a range of operational matters including IT, management of licences and administration.

Selection Criteria 1: Demonstrated experience in managing and administering governance frameworks, information management frameworks, and an understanding of budget, financial management and procurement processes and reporting.*

Selection Criteria 2: Demonstrated experience in and a sound working knowledge of Risk Management processes and principles.*

Selection Criteria 3: Extensive experience in providing executive level administrative, and Board and Committee secretarial support and advice, including a proven ability to exercise sound judgment. Deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive matters, identify issues, solutions and continuous improvement opportunities that deliver on corporate and strategic objectives.*

Selection Criteria 4: High level of self-management, organisational skills with a proven ability to exercise initiative, work on multiple projects, meet critical deadlines and maintain quality standards to deliver on a range of activities across key areas of MAGNT operations.*

Selection Criteria 5: High level oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to write reports and other correspondence with attention to detail, accuracy and document presentation, in an environment requiring performance of multiple tasks and adherence to deadlines.*

Selection Criteria 6: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement to provide appropriate operational advice and propose practical, informed recommendations in response to corporate governance, business and system administration process issues across key areas of MAGNT’s operations.*

Selection Criteria 7: Demonstrated experience in understanding and interpreting legislation, policies and governance methodologies.*

Selection Criteria 8: Well-developed understanding of office-based computer applications and services, and the ability to coach and train staff in the use of systems.*

Selection Criteria 9: Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and beliefs, operate as an effective team member and develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. *

Selection Criteria 10: Energetic, self-motivated, flexible and adaptable with a sense of humour, able to multi-task and work independently in a hands-on work environment*

Selection Criteria 11: Demonstrated experience of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with WHS Policies and Procedures.*
